I suspect I wrote this some time during my school years, possibly when we were learning about World War II.
The air raid guns are shooting
The bombs are coming near
Little children are so scared
And adults are full of fear
You must get into a shelter
In time if you are able
If you haven’t got one
Just stay under a table
Innocent people are suffering pain
Of losing their loved ones again and again
When the siren sounds its warning
It could be early in the morning
You must go to a shelter straight away
Whether it’s night, or whether it’s day
The air raid guns have stopped now
The Germans have all gone
But one whole world is shattered
And the sadness still goes on
