Childhood

I guess I sound a bit precocious in some of my poems, but I can’t help agreeing with this one

Written on 17 February 1990, at age 13

All good children gather round
Sitting snug upon the ground

Listen with your heeding ears
Of tales of happiness, love and tears

Thinking with your childlike minds
Of tales you’ve heard about mankind
Please, dear children, take my advice
Adulthood is not so nice
But, if you have sense and are well and good
You’ll always treasure your childhood

  1. I can’t believe how old I sound in this one. I wrote poems all throughout my childhood and for the longest time they have been hidden away in my writing folder, but I figured this site would also be a good opportunity to share my other writing with people. I’m happy if people enjoy it:-).
