Once I saw a river
Flowing to the sea
The river gave a shiver
And splashed its spray on me

Swishing and swirling
Splashing and whirling
Plonking and plinking
Floating and sinking

Hurtling along
Singing its song
The words and notes can’t be told
But as I go
This I know
The river’s secret will unfold
