The Life Of A Snake

“Sss”, goes the snake
“Now I’m awake
A-hunting I think I’ll go
And look at my skin
Oh watch it glow
Look at the way I wrap round the tree
I’ve no sharp ears, but I’m glad I can see
Don’t touch my eggs
I’m like a very long lizard without any legs
My favourite food is grubs and mice
I jump out at them in a trice
And they’re worth such a price
Watch me burrow through the ground
Not a single sound. Not a single sound
I steal baby monkeys when they’re asleep
Soon they’re in my tum tum way down deep
And then me, away I creep
I slither through the grass biting people’s legs
After all, I’m protecting my eggs”
