As A Boy

As a boy I stand and dream
Things are never what they seem
Life will go its own foul way
Changing so from day to day
Feelings are shattered
Memories annihilated
Add all the visions that I’ve created
You must give up your passions
You must give up your dreams
For some unknown day in the future
Life might be just as it seems
Sitting here writing this
Is it just a crime?
Knowing their true feelings
Mayn’t you spare the time?
Please dear God
In giving me much joy
Remind me of days long ago
When I was a boy
