Best Friends

This is a poem I wrote today (16/08/10) while riding my bike. We’ve been going through a tough time lately with our friends, which makes you appreciate your real friends even more.

The best friend you can ever have
Is one whom you can trust
When times are tough and you feel rough
They don’t vanish in the dust

They don’t take you for granted
Say thank you when you are there
And when you need them and their support
You know they really care

They know the real you
You can be yourself together
They understand you without words
And they’re there whatever the weather

They don’t judge you or deride you
Cos that’s not who they are
They’re happy to be beside you
Cos they know that you’re a star.
