My name is Sarah. I was born and grew up in England and currently live in Düsseldorf, Germany, with my fiancé Corey and my cuddly cat Biscuit. I work as a translator and writer for my own company Aardwolf Text Services (www.aardwolf.de) and I love vintage clothes and music, as well as singing karaoke.

  1. Sarah,I am preparing to go to Germany on a holdiay, to Hamburg, and like you I am wheat, dairy and egg free, it was your site that came up first. I realise you have moved to America but wondered if you could pass me on to a friend still in Germany who could help with eating out places. Also since you speak German could you make me a card to take in to restaurants with “I am wheat, dairy and egg free could you make me a meal please”.
Hope you are eating better, I have to cook lots myself as having the 3 items ‘free from’ is difficult to find in Welsh shops.Loved your site, Colin

    1. Hi Colin,

I’m glad my site was helpful. As I didn’t live in Hamburg, I can’t put you in touch with any of my friends there.

(Due to food allergies I am unable to eat either wheat (gluten), dairy products or eggs. I would be grateful if you could please recommend a suitable meal for me).

Replace Weizen (wheat) with Gluten (gluten) as needed. As I mention in the article, there are also special celiac cards that explain what gluten is in different languages.

      Hope that helps!

      Bon voyage!

      Sarah
