Routine versus Intuition

I’ve finally learned my massage routine
I can’t believe how long it’s been
It provides me with a good foundation
But the best work is my own creation
My heart it beats within my hands
That listen for pain and the body’s demands
Soothing is my motto
And instinct is my guide
As I learn to listen to that voice inside
My gift lies not in my lessons in class
Nor in my grades or whether I pass
These are tools that I can use
But my own instinct I refuse to abuse
For I feel energy and emotion
And I know that healing is my devotion.

I’m not good at routine
But I have intuition
To heal and not harm
That is my mission
The ears in my hands tell me where to go
My heart understands
And my senses they know
What needs to be done
To take away your pain
To ease what ails you and is driving you insane
