I may be a woman and without a Dr title
But to treat me with disrespect that does not you entitle
No matter what my background, my gender or education
Regardless of my nationality or even of my station
So why do some think they can treat others like crap
Because of these “labels” they fall into this trap
If I give you respect right from the outset
I’m asking you to please not forget
To give back to me just what I deserve
And to not have the bloody nerve
To class me by gender or some stereotype
This is not the first time I’ve had this gripe
All I ask is to be treated with some dignity
Or do you really believe that that is not for me?
(I pray that one day this is something you’ll see)
