Uncertainty

I was going through a pretty depressed phase of my teenage years when I wrote this. I was often unhappy, but it was this too that inspired me to write it all down.

How can we know what the future brings
When it is not mapped out?
Not knowing is frustration
And frustration springs from doubt
For we are only human
No better, no less, no more
And being only human
We can never be sure
We run the risk, we jump the cliff
Without seeing what’s ahead
By the time we see the rocks on the bottom
It’s too late and we are dead
